This old capitol was built from 1847 to 1852 and had a major remodeling in 1882. Its use as the capitol ended upon completion of the new capitol.

More than likely by the same publisher, this postcard is the embossed version of the one above. It is made from the same finished artwork. The embossing appears as a dull brown enhancement of the fence and building details.

History. It appears anything from gleaming white to shades of
tan in modern photographs. The top tier of the turrets was
