State Capitol, Montpelier, Vt.
Antique postcard from the private collection of Valerie Mockaitis. Published by The Metropolitan News Co., Boston, Mass. and Germany. Postmarked Oct 24, 1908.
Like in many of the images of this capitol, the trees block the view of much of the building. The portico, which remains from the previous capitol building, and the new dome dominate the picture.

State Capitol Building, Montpelier, Vt.
Antique postcard published circa 1910 by Buswell's Bookstore, Importers & Publishers, Montpelier, Vt. Made in Germany.
This slightly off-center view shows the great detail and depth found in vintage postcards printed in Europe. The age of the card has added some ivory color to the entire image.

The Vermont State Capitol. Montpelier, Vt.
Antique postcard published circa 1905 by
Raphael Tuck & Sons. Printed in England.
Using an oblique view of this capitol has resulted in little of the building being visible. Most of the others shown here are more typical images of the front through the trees.

Vermont State House.
Stereograph image Photographed and Published by C. H. Freeman, Montpelier, Vt. circa 1870.
This aerial view shows the whole 1857 building over the trees. The hills behind the capitol look nearly bare, which is quite a contrast to the current forest.
